The first installation of the ROMA: CAMERA OBSCURA project was created in the attic of the Church of Santa Maria in Portico in Campitelli, capturing three distinct views of the city.

In embarking on my exploration of Rome’s centuries-old architecture as a prism through which to reflect on both my city and my past, this work was undertaken between late 2020 and early 2021. It unfolded within the studio of artist and cherished friend Andrea Pinchi, whose space, rich with creative energy, became a catalyst for deeper layers of collaboration and inspiration, weaving history, memory, and art into a single, cohesive narrative.
